About Us
Ecclesall Kids Club has been serving the community for over 20 years. Founded by parents seeking wrap-around childcare, we’ve grown into a substantial primary club that now offers up to 136 after-school places and 100 breakfast club places, along with holiday club services.
We operate as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), run by a Committee of current and former parents. As a not-for-profit organization, the majority of our income is reinvested directly back into the club, maintaining only legally required reserves. Our governance structure includes regular committee meetings throughout the year and an annual AGM open to all parent members.
We depend on parent volunteers to maintain our committee. Without new members joining as others leave, we cannot continue to provide our valuable service.
Finances
Our income supports:
- Staff wages and professional development
- Premises rental
- Play and learning resources
- Children’s food and refreshments
We’re committed to paying all staff at least the current living wage and supporting their continuing professional development to enhance their childcare expertise.
Staff Excellence
Our dedicated staff are our greatest asset. Each team member brings either full qualifications or extensive childcare experience to their role. All staff members have:
Current DBS checks
Safe guarding training
Food Hygiene certification
Paediatric First Aid qualifications (all permanent staff)
We believe in creating a balanced environment that values both experience and fresh perspectives. While we prioritise staff retention to provide continuity for our children, we also welcome new supply staff who bring energy and innovative ideas to our settings. Many of our team members are building careers in childcare, teaching, or sports coaching, bringing enthusiasm and dedication to their roles.
