What’s involved / What are the committee responsible for:
- Our Ofsted registration and inspections
- Ensuring we meet the terms of our charity registration including that we do not make a profit and that we meet the terms of our constitution
- The financial health of the club – this includes banking, session prices, staff wage rises, expenditure, lettings, Booking policy/cancellation periods
- Employment matters for 30 staff members – the committee are the staff employers – This includes – Pensions, HR Appeals supervision/support of the club’s management team
- Health & Safety – This includes setting headcounts, premises and space and reviewing accidents and incidents
- Compliance with all statutory and non-statutory bodies and frameworks
- Polices – Clearing new policies
- Recruitment to management positions
- Change management
- Safeguarding the children in our care
Many of the above responsibilities are delegated to the management team of the club but the committee drives the decisions and are ultimately responsible for our compliance and service delivery. The committee meet at Ecclesall Primary school 4-5 times per year usually on Monday evenings 7-9PM to discuss any business/ make any decisions needed. Once a year an AGM meeting is arranged in December for any new parents to attend who are interested in joining the committee team although parents can join at any point in the year.
